HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 12.17.2001 CC-SMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS MONDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2001 Called to order at 6:03 p.m. Council Present: MaryEllen Kersch, Clark Lyda, Charles "Noss" Burson, Jack Noble and Ken Evans Staff Present: Tom Yantis, Carla Ezell, Patricia Carls, Sandra Lee, George Russell, Jim Briggs Special Session A Discussion and possible action regarding the process for securing a permanent replacement of the City Manager. Discussion to include: search options, proposal process, timelines, compensation and benefits, and profile — MaryEllen Kersch Human Resources Director Carla Ezell and Assistant City Manager Tom Yantis distributed handouts and discussed options for facilitators and timelines. Motion by Evans, second by Noble to have Ezell contact the firm of DMG-Maximus and set up an introductory meeting with the Council as soon as possible. Approved 5-0. (Navarrette and Pfiester absent) Ezell said she would try to schedule a meeting on Friday, January 4, 2002. G Discussion of scheduling for redistricting process — MaryEllen Kersch There was discussion regarding a joint workshop to be scheduled for Thursday, January 3, to allow outside counsel, Alan Bickerstaff, to explain the proposed final plan to be submitted to the Justice Department.
