Brandenburg, City Manager; Jim Briggs, Assistant City Manager; Jessica Brettle, City Secretary; Mike Peters, Information Technology Director; X17 =115T, 19 M U11all A Presentation of Information Technology (IT) major project status for the current fiscal year, and the IT Master Plan update for FY2012 -- Mike Peters, Information Technology Director The Mayor called the meeting to order at 5:04 PM. With a Powerpoint Presentation, Peters reviewed what projects have been completed and what projects are in store for the future for the Information Technology department. He said already in FY2011, they have completed the Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System project with a go -live that happened in October, GIS version upgrade 10, virus malware protection update, a new video surveillance system, the Council video system which has worked out well so far and a replacement for the wifi hotspots throughout city facilities. Jonrowe asked and Peters said the video surveillance will be used for the cash collection areas, outside of the rec center for the parking lots, in the equipment yard and near the water and wastewater systems. Jonrowe asked and Peters said it is possible to look at the video live, but it is mainly retained for a period of time so we could refer to it later in case of an incident. Peters described two major projects that are underway this year including the CityLinks (Advanced Metering) Project and the Incode Version X upgrade. He said the major two requested projects for fiscal year 2012 are the asset management system (AMS) and the Microsoft Exchange and Outlook messaging/calendaring program, which would replace the Lotus Notes email program. He showed Council the other projects that have been requested by individual departments as well. He spoke about initiatives beyond fiscal year 2012 including an enterprise records management system, AMS extensions and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity implementation. He said all of these items will be reviewed again as part of next year's update. Gonzalez asked and Peters said there is a dedicated network segment for council members on the dais. Peters noted the wife offerings are really intended for staff members moving around buildings but also for the public on the square who would like access to wifi. He said council can access all of these things with their laptop but noted, on the dais, you have a dedicated connected just for you. Peters said, when he wrote this up, he left off the idea of virtual desktops. He briefly described the concept of virtual desktops for Council.
