MINUTES 8:30 A.M. – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2012 WILLIAMSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE 2ND FLOOR NORTH CONFERENCE ROOM, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS Board Members Present: Denise Jimenez, Linda McCalla, Amanda Parr, Marcy Urban, Julie Laderach David Kellerman, Jim Wilson City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager 1. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Board Chair Denise Jimenez. 2. Denise moved to approve the September 14th board meeting minutes, Julie seconded. All board members present voted to approve (7-0). 3. Valerie Kreger was not present so no HARC report was given. 4. Shelly gave a staff report that both Gumbo’s and El Monumento opened the first week of October to great crowds. The GHS dinner was held at El Monumento and was well attended. Grape Creek Vineyards is going back to HARC to get their courtyard/pergola area approved. Preferred Landscape and Lighting will start wrapping the trees on Monday. 5. Committee Reports: a. Economic Restructuring: Marcy reported on the Sept. 19 Breakfast Bites with Penny Reeh and how well received she was. Jim reported that a group met with SU Football Coach Joe Austin about having two pep rallies in 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in downtown for the first game and then for Homecoming game. Marcy discussed the need for an ordinance to prevent offices on the first floors, for retail only. Also mentioned the opportunity for video for downtown merchants. Fleur de Luxe has moved and Koi Asian Bistro is now open. b. Promotion: Denise said that Pilot Knob Winery has donated a case of wine to the Main Street 30th Anniversary Dinner and the board needs to hand deliver invites to their block members; emails are being sent out the Swirl restaurants, wineries and retailers that participated last year. Facade and sign grant check presentation to Burger University in the Lockett building immediately after the board meeting. c. Design: Amanda reminded about the Breakfast Bites window workshop on October 18 where we’ll introduce the first “Light Up the Square” holiday lighting contest. The board reviewed the entry form and will distribute to blocks. David mentioned that he needs volunteers to help sell the collectible ornament at Market Days on November 10.  Joint Arts & Culture: Gallery Georgetown is scheduled to take place on Sat, Nov. 3 with 7 galleries and then the artist’s reception at the Visitor Center due to construction on the new art center in the old fire house. d. Organization: no meeting or report 8. The November board meeting will be moved to Friday, November 16 since Shelly will be attending the annual Texas Downtown Conference in Wichita Falls on November 9.
