A Call to Order - Chad Holz, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair
The meeting was called to order at 6:02 pm by Chad Holz.
B Roll Call - Chad Holz, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair
Present: Chad Holz, Jack Flatau, Keith Fruge, Brazos Fielder, Jolene Melancon, Peter Bahrs
Absent: Lindsay Cooper
Staff present: Kimberly Garrett, Eric Nuner, Robert Gaylor, Ty Greer and Jill Kellum
C Welcome new member of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board - Kimberly

Kimberly Garrett introduced Keith Fruge the boards newest member.
D Parks and Recreation staff member introduction and presentation - Kimberly Garrett,
Parks and Recreation Director
Kimberly Garrett introduced Ty Greer, Senior Parks Maintenance Worker. Ty Greer explained
he builds, inspects, and maintains the city's playscapes. He stated he was introduced to the
Parks department while in high school, by Randy Morrow, former Parks and Recreation
Director. Ty Greer explained the software that tracks work orders for maintenance and
information on the playscapes.
E Presentation, discussion and possible recommendation on the proposed Cost
Recovery Study - Kimberly Garrett, Parks and Recreation and Teresa Jackson, GreenPlay
Kimberly Garrett introduced Teresa Jackson with GreenPlay/BerryDunn to present the Cost
Recovery Study. Teresa Jackson went through the Cost Recovery Model. The Parks and
Recreation Advisory Boardmembers were given an opportunity to ask questions and give input
throughout the presentation with answers and clarification given by Teresa Jackson and staff.
Motion made by Jack Flatau, seconded by Keith Fruge to recommend approval of the
proposed Cost Recovery Study. Approved 6 — 0 —1

Motion made by Brazos Fielder, seconded by Jolene Melancon to approve minutes from the
February 10, 2022 meeting. Approved 6 — 0 —1
G Review and discussion of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board by-laws and
attendance policy for board members. - Jill Kellum, Administrative Supervisor
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board reviewed the by-laws and attendance policy for the
board. There were no questions.
H Consideration and possible action to elect the Vice -Chair of the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board - Chad Holz, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair
Motion made by Chad Holz, seconded by Brazos Fielder to elect Keith Fruge as Vice -Chair of
the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Approved 6 — 0 —1
I Consideration and possible action to elect the Secretary of the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board - Chad Holz, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair
Motion made by Jack Flatau, seconded by Keith Fruge to elect Lindsay Cooper as the
Secretary of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Approved 5 —1-1
J Consideration and possible action to set date and time for 2022
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meetings - Chad Holz, Parks and Recreation Advisory
Motion made by Chad Holz, seconded by Jolene Melancon to maintain the meeting set to the
2°a Thursday of the month at 6 pm. Approved 6 — 0 —1
K Discussion to set date and time for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Annual
Parks Tour - Kimberly Garrett, Parks and Recreation Director
Kimberly Garrett stated she would send out proposed dates for tour. Brazos Fielder suggested
we move the tour back to October instead of the spring. It was decided to move the tour to
October.
L Update from the Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation — Peter Bahrs, Parks
and Recreation Advisory Boardmember Liaison
Kimberly Garrett attended the meeting. They talked about the soccer scholarships and an
individual that has been providing scholarships. The family costume ball had about 70 people
attend, and the group discussed whether to offer this in the future. Kimberly Garrett stated she
gave an update on the department events and what events they can focus to fundraise for. She
talked about taking recreation out to the parks and this may be an opportunity for the friends to
fundraise for.
M Capital Project Updates - Eric Nuner, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation

Eric Nuner showed the community garden and stated there will be a grand opening soon. Wolf
Crossing Trail has been cleared. Eric Nuner stated he is working with the communication team,
and it will be featured in What's UP Georgetown. The trail should be complete in about 7
months. He stated the public input meetings are scheduled for the neighborhood parks. On the
San Gabriel Park Phase III project, they are working with the design consultant and how the
skate park will work into the design. For the other 7 park designs there will also be
neighborhood input.
N Director Report - Kimberly Garrett, Parks and Recreation Director
Kimberly Garrett reviewed the director report that was attached to the agenda.
Public Wishing to Address the Board
On a subject that is posted on this agenda: Please fill out a speaker registration form which can
be found at the Board meeting. Clearly print your name, the letter of the item on which you
wish to speak, and present it to the Staff Liaison, preferably prior to the start of the meeting.
You will be called forward to speak when the Board considers that item.
On a subject not posted on the agenda: Persons may add an item to a future Board agenda by
filing a written request with the Staff Liaison no later than one week prior to the Board meeting.
The request must include the speaker's name and the specific topic to be addressed with
sufficient information to inform the board and the public. For Board Liaison contact

Motion made by Chad Holz, seconded by Jack Flatau to adjourn the meeting. Approved 6 — 0
