The Arts & Culture Advisory Board met on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 4:30 PM via Zoom virtual meeting.

Jane Estes Called the meeting to order at 4:32p.m.
City Staff Present:

A. Discussion on how this virtual conference will be conducted, to include options for public comments
and how the public may address the Commission — Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
Amanda Still, explained how the virtual conference would be conducted.
B. Citizens wishing to address the board —Jane Estes, Board Chair. Eric Lashley signed up to address the
board on item E. No citizens were present to address the board.
C. Announcements regarding arts and culture —Jane Estes, Board Chair.
Susie — received grant money for Full Circle. This will be held at the Heritage Center the 3rd
Thursday of every month and will start April 15, 2021.
Jessica — We are starting grant writing to do a collaborative mobile steam project —just in the
very beginning planning.
D. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the January 19, 2021 Arts and Culture
Advisory Board Meeting —Jane Estes, Board Chair.
Motion to approve the minutes Sonya Robinson, second by Susie Kelly Flatau.

E. Recognition of Janes Estes and Sharon Snuffer for their service on the Arts & Culture Advisory Board —
Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
Eric Lashley thanked the board for their service.
F. Consideration and possible action to approve the artwork for the mural at Georgetown Title as part of
the "percent for Public Art Adjacent to Capital Improvements Projects" — Amanda Still, Arts and
Culture Coordinator
Amanda presented to the board the artwork that Georgetown Title has ranked by their preference that
they would like to board to consider.
Discussion: Revision request - Railway Rhymes but would like to see the train as more of a focal point.
Using the color scheme from 'Ode to the past. Possibly remove the chevron and replace with the circle
in 'Ode to the past.
Motion to approve the Railway Rhymes mural design with requested revisions by Sonya Robinson,
second by Marissa Palmer.
Approved 5-0
G. Consideration and possible approval of draft artwork for the Georgetown Art Center mural —Amanda
Still, Arts and culture Coordinator
Amanda shared with the board a collaborative project working with different local artist. Diversity is the
theme. Right now, each artist is working on what they want to represent. We are meeting on Friday to
nail down this composition. The challenge is combining it all together in harmonious way.
No action needed.

I. Consideration and possible action regarding future meeting dates and times — Jane Estes, Board Chair
Next scheduled Arts & Culture Advisory Board Meeting is on March 16, 2021.
Motion by Jessica Meurer Sobhani to adjourn the meeting. Second by Sonya Robinson. The meeting was
adjourned at 5:54 PM
