HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.07.1969 CC-S11. ; July 7, 1969 The City Council met on the above date, in called session, Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and city officials were present: William R. Lanes, Harry Gold, Hubert Brock, Doyle Lyda, A. F. Davis, City Manager Leo Wood, Assistant City Manager Claud Eads and City Attorney Joe B. McMaster. Others present were: Louise Wilcox, James Browder, Bill Jones, Bill Buchanan, Don Scarbrough and Curtis Adrian with First Southwest Company Investment Bankers of Austin. Stonehaven Rev. James Browder requested that the Council give Stonehaven monies paid City by Georgetown Housing Authority in lieu of taxes. They requested 1/3 the first year and 2f3 the second year and total amount paid to the city thereafter. No action was taken. Q Water Motion by Lanes and seconded by Brock that Estimate No. 1 of water Tower tower painting project be }paid in the amount of $8,820.00 and balance of V Painting contract and items 2 and 3 be withheld for final payment. Motion carried V by unanimous vote. Charter Mayor appointed lire. It. D. Biggs judge of election to be held August Election 5, 1969 for Home Rule Charter Commission Gas Nate Motion by Eanes and seconded by Lyda that 1 cent per meter not be Increase contributed for the purpose of rate increase by Lone Star Gas Company (Transmissionhearing. Mayor declared motion dead account of no support. Line) Motion by Gold and seconded by Davis that 1 cent per meter be contributed to assist in defeating Lone Star Gas Company's rate increase. Votes as follows: Gold - Yes, Brock - Yes, Davis - Yes, Eanes - No, and Lyda - No. Motion carried. C. Adrian Mr. Curtis Adrian, who is the financial consultant for the City Financing of Georgetown and employed by First Southwest Company was present. Mr. Adrian discussed how the future needs for the city could be financed through tax and revenue bonds. Mayor suggested that Mr. Adrian prepare a three phase program to be presented to the Council at a called meeting of Council on July 28, 1969.
