The City Council met in regular sessionon this date, Mayor X. F.
Smith presiding, the following aldermen and officers were present:
Aldermen F. E. Buchholz, J. R'. r'hastain, J. C. Godvey, C. C. Ham-
ilton sxd S. R. Wilcox. Officers: T. H. Nunn, city attorney; C. S.
Sanders, assessor,and collector; Albert May, marshal; M. Z. Cates
Secretary and R. E. "Vard, Manager of utilities.
On motion of Ald erman Chastain the minutes of the previous meetings
were approve.
On motion Pf Alderman Wilcox all approved accounts were ordered paid.

motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, seconded by Alderman F. E. Buch-
olz, the council unanimously, accepted the propositon of Mr. Bmzy Will -
ams to purchase of him 7.30 acres of .land adjoining the recently acquired
ausenfluck land for use as an airport, X=xXi paying Mr. Williams
470.00 per acre, giving the Mayor authority to close the deal.

Also On motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey, seconded by Alderman F.`TJ . Buchholz,
the council unanimously accepted ten acres of land adjoining the proposed
k irport size owned by W. H. Nunn, paying him $700.00 therefor, and author-
ied the mayor to complete the tranaction.
Alderman G. C. Godbey made a motion that Manager Ward Be authorized to enter
into contract with Fairbanks -Morse company for the complete overhauling of
one of the diesel engines at the power` plant. Alderman S. E. Wilcox seconded
the motion, which carried unanimously.
The Salary Ordinance designating the salary to be paid the Mayor and Ald-
ermen to -be elected at the next general city election to be held in
April 1942 as: Mayor's salary, $40.00 per month and each alderman to be
paid $4.00 for each meeting of the city council attended by such alderman.

Ord. Committeeman J. C. Godbey offered"A Resolution Constituting Agree-
ment 'With the United States Relative to the Operation and Maintenance
of the Georgetown Airport" and Moved that the same be read in full. The
motion was seconded byAldermen F. E. Buchholz and was unanimously pas -sed
the following being the vote. Ayes --Buchholz, Chastain, Godbey, Hamilton,
Wilcox. Noes --None.
Alderman J. C. Godbey then moved that the Raid resolution be adopted
as read. The motion was seconded by Alderman S. E.'Wilcox, and was
passed by unanimous vote, viz: rtes--Buchholit Chastain, Godbey,
Hamilton, Wilcox. Noes. None. ( See Exhibit "a" Pages 1 to 7 inclusive.)

Alderman J. R, Chastain moved that the aforesaid ordinance known as Ehibit
Exhibit "b" be passed to its second reading, that all regular rules
relating to the passing of ordinances be and are hereby suspended, and
that the said ordinance be read by Caption. The motion was seconded by
Alderman C. C. Hamilton, and the vote was unanimous, as follows:
Ayes --Buchholz, Chastain, Godbey, Hamitlton, Tileox. Noes --None.

On Motion of Ald€rman S. E. Tilcox, that the said Ordinance
be finally passed, the motion being seconded by Alderman
J. C. Godbey, it was passed unanimously, the following being
the vote: Ayes --Buchholz, Chastain, Godbey, Hamilton, '"tileox.

firdinance Committeeman presented, viz: "An Ordinance of the' -City of
Georgetown, Texas, levying Advalorem Texaes for the year 1942;`at the
rate of One and 24-100 ($1.24) Dollars on each one hundred 0100.00)
Dollars in valuation; on all property subject to taxation within and by
the said City, for the said year 1942, under the Oonstitution and
Laws of the State of Texas, and declaring an emergency," and moved
that the said ordinance be read in full. The motion wasriedobded by''

On motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, that the said ordinance be
passed to its second reading, that the usual rules for passing ordi-
nances be and are hereby suspended, and that the said ordinance be
read by Capt6un, which motion was seconded by Alderman S. E. Tilcox,
and was passed by the unanimous vote of the Council; viz: Ayes -
Buchholz, Chastain, Godbey, Hamilton, Wilcox. Noes --None. Ord Read

On motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey that the usual rules be and are hereby
suspended, and that the said ordinance be read by caption, and passed
yo its third reading, having been seconded by Alderman Hamilton, the
said motion was unanimously passed, the following being the vote --
Ayes, Buchholz, Chastain, Godbey, Hamilton, Wilcox. Noes. None.

the aforesaid Tax -Ordinance was passed finally by unanimous-vote,'as
