HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 08.09.1977 CC-R353 August 9, 1977 The City Council met in regular session at 7:00 o'clock p.m. on the above date with Mayor Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Harry Gold, Dee Scott, Carl Doering, Ken Olson, William Shell, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Attorney Joe McMaster, Chief of Police Travis Thomas and Community Develop- ment Coordinator Jim Colbert. Others present were: Russell Don Parker, Riley Robbins, Wilbur Calloway, Melissa Carroll, Mike Riddell, Charles Steiger and Ray Thomas, Jr. Monthly Minutes Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering to approve the minutes of and Reports council meetings held on July 5, July 12, July 19 and July 29, 1977. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve General Fund bills in the amount of $12,340.00 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $226,236.18. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Open bids on Bids to furnish the City of Georgetown with one years supply of gas and Gas and Oil oil were received from Lackey Oil Company and Exxon Company. Motion by CO Doering and seconded by Olson to accept the low bid from Lackey Oil Company. OMotion carried by unanimous vote. Open Bids on The following bids were received for drainage construction located on VForrest Street Forrest Street. Drainage Parker and Rogers Construction Company $28,929.00 Dalmork, inc. $35,792.50 Motion by Scott and seconded by Gold to award the contract to Parker and Rogers Construction Company. City Manager Leo Wood, Charles Steiger, Engineer, and Russell Parker, Contractor were instructed to meet and negotiate a contract for $27,500.00. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Quit -Claim Motion by Shel I and seconded by OI son to adopt a Resolution authorizing Deed Ray Mayor Doerfler to sign a Quit Claim Deed to River Oaks Landscaping for fond Thomas, Jr. in North Goergetown Addition claimed by the City and Ray Thomas. Ray Thomas will in turn sign a Quit Claim Deed to a tract of land lying between the San Gabriel River and College Street. This land is also claimed by the City and Ray Thomas. No fence or hike and bike trail is to be built on that portion of land Quit Climed by Ray Thomas to the City. Motion carried by unanimous vote. One Hour Parking Reports were heard from Councilmen Gold and Olson regarding poll of businessmen around the Square as to the type of parking. Action on this matter was postphoned until the parking lot located at 9th and Main Streets could be completed. Chief of Police Thomas was instructed to inforce the two hour parking regulations as stated in the parking ordinance. Speed Limit Chief of Police Thomas reported that he had written a letter to the Texas Recommendation Highway Department requesting traffic speed surveys on RM 2243 but that he had not received any reply as of this meeting. Rezoning -North Motion by Scott and seconded by Shell to approve on first reading an Georgetown Ordinance rezoning Lots 1 thru 8, Block 7 of the North Georgetown Addition Addition from R -S to C-1. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Abandonment- No action was taken at this time. Myrtle Street Arrowhead Sub- Motion by Shell and seconded by Olson to adopt a Resolution vacating division and abandoning Arrowhead Subdivision and authorizing the refiling on the plat. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 072) San Gabriel Heights Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to adopt a Resolution vacating Subdivision and abandoning San Gabriel Heights, Section V, and authorizing the re - Section V filing of the plat. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 073) Production Credit No action was taken on this matter. Ordinance to be on September Property Agenda. Preliminary Plat- Motion by Scott and seconded by Olson to approve the preliminary plat Serenada West II of Serenada West Unit II with a change in Right-of-way width on Sequoia Spur from 50' to 70' between Andice Highway and Alhambra Lane and on Alhambra Lane from 50' to 70' between Sequoia Spur and the Shell property. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Preliminary Plat- Motion by Scott and seconded by Gold to approve the preliminary Hutto Road plat of the Hutto Road tract. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Preliminary Plat- Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve the preliminary plat Barksdale Lot of the Barksdale lot. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Sheriff's Posse Lease The City Council was notified that the lease to the Williamson County Sheriff's Posse had been reassigned to the Citizens State Bank in order to secure an $8,500.00 loan. Electrical Fuel Motion by Shell and seconded by Scott to approve a 100% electrical Adjustment fuel adjustment on the August billing. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
