July 9, 1973
The City Council met in regular session on the above date with Mayor Joe
E. Crawford presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present, Harry
Gold, William Eanes, Hubert Brock, Dee Scott, J. D. Wininger, City Manager Leo
Wood, City Secretary Claud Eads and City Attorney Joe B. McMaster. Others
present were Bill Buchanan, Tom Sams, Ronald Parker, Russell Don Parker and
Tim Wright.
Monthly Motion by Wininger and seconded by Eanes that minutes of council meetings
Minutes & held on June 11, 1973 and June 28, 1973 be approved as presented. Motion carried
Reports by unanimous vote.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott that General Fund bills in the amount
of $4,825.45 and Utility bills in the amount of $27,332.57 be approved and pad.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Dog Jane Montgomery was present and suggested that an ordinance to protect citizens
Ordinance that are molested by bitting dogs be adopted. City Attorney McMaster said he
would work on such an ordinance.
Russell Don Russell Don Parker presented a plat for Williams Addition Unit III, containing
Parker - 16.95 acres and 40 lots. It had already been approved by the Planning and Zoning
Williams Commission.
Addition III Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the plat be accepted. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Georgetown A Zoning Ordinance was presented to the council concerning a zone change
Cablevision- on the Engelbrecht property, now owned by Georgetown Cablevision Company, from
Zoning "R -S" & "R -P" to "C -2-B" for the new cable television site.
Ordinance Motion by Scott and seconded by Eanes that the ordinance be passed and approved.
Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page 0321)
Lawson A Zoning Ordinance was presented by Tim Wright on a zoning change from "R -S"
Office- to "R -M-3" for an office building.
Zoning Motion by Eanes and seconder! by Wininger that this ordinance be passed and
Ordinance subjected to the Planning and Zoning Commission for signatures. Motion carried by
unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 -Page 0322-323)
BRA -Bill Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold that the Brazos River Authority bill
in the amount of $1,515.00, for interest on bonds, be paid. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
Urban Renewal Estimate 12 in the amount of $1,525.00, from Terry Edwards Construction
Company for extra 'work in the Urban Renewal Area,. was presented to the council.
This estimate was not approved for payment by the council, since it had not been
approved by City Manager Wood.
Compton
A sign ordinance for Compton Motors was presented for its second reading.

Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the ordinance be passed to its second

A proposed One Hour Parking Ordinance was discussed at length by a number

of citizens. Mayor Crawford suggested that Councilman Gold and Councilman

Scott make a further survey of the matter and report back to the council at a later
date.

Roy Krienke- . Estimate 03 in the amount of $22,336.20, from Roy A. Krienke, contractor
Estimate 03 on the Southeast Sewer Project, -was presented to the council..
Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the estimate be approved.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Holloman- Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the estimate of F. E. Holloman
Estimate 19 in the amount of $15,030.18 was approved but payment thereof is to be withheld
until the litigation involving F. E. Holloman and the City of Georgetown is resolved
because of the off -set right of the City of Georgetown. All were in favor.
W. H. Mullins, Motion by Brock and seconded by Scott that a bill from W. H. Mullins, Inc.
Inc. - Bill in the amount of $496.83, be approved and paid. This bill was for engineering
fees on the Southeast Sewer Project. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
There being no further business on a motion by Eanes and seconded by Brock
the meeting adjourned.
