September 28, 1971
The City Council met in called session on the above date with
Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials
were present; Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manager
Leo Wood and Asst. City Manager Claud Eads.Others present were Mrs.
Herbert Baker and Jim Nibble.
Grady Watkins The Council agreed to settle all rebate matters with Grady Watkins
Settlement in the East Lynn Addition; allow North and South streetsto be 40 feet
wide in proposed subdivision; allow hook-up to sewer and water; and
stay within 255 feet of east property line with sewer; and in return will
pay Grady Watkins $2,000.00 and dismiss law suit against Grady Watkins.

Sewer Contract Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger authorizing Mayor Jay C.
F. E. Holloman Sloan to sign the sewer contract in the amount of $137,174.75, with
Mr. F. E. Holloman Utility Contractor on project WPC -Tex -703.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Highway #29 The highway #29 Parking Ordinance was discussed. A letter was read
Parking from Pastor Graves of the First Methodist Church asking that parking be
Ordinance permitted on Highway #29 on Sundays. No action was taken.
Well Pump Motion by Brock and seconded by Crawford that City Manager wood be
Fences authorized to build fences around the well pumps as recommended by the
State Health Department. All were in favor.
There being no further business on a motion by Wininge�and seconded
by Crawford the meeting adjourned.
