The following councilmen and officials were present. Wm. It. Eanes, Harry Gold, IIubert Brock, Doyle Lyda, A. F. Davis, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. Manager Claud Eads, and City Attorney Joe Mc Master. Others present were Eugene Hobart Architect for Georgetown. Area Library, Jim Boutwell Airport Manager, Col. Max Stone with C. A. P.,'S. T.'Atkin, Mrs. J. Philpot, Don Scarbrough, Bill Buchanan, Mrs. Herbert Baker, Mrs. Cook,.Mrs. Carl Doering, Mrs, Anna Aikin, 0. A. Ullrich, and Jim Rebler. Minutes of the council meeting held July 14, 1969 and July 28, 1969 were approved as presented. Kotion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the General Fund bills in the amount of $5,633.34 and Utility bills in the amount of $63,018.57 be approved and paid. The motion carried by a unaminous vote. Home Mayor Sloan appointed councilmen Eanes and Gold to canvass the election Rule returns from the Home Rule Charter Commission election as follows: Canvass We your committee appointed to canvass home Rule Charter Commission election returns held August 5, 1969 reports as follows: Tom Douglass 183 votes Fred Knauth 200 votes Joe Crawford 189 votes Rodney Montgomery 199 votes PLawliegh Elliot 181 votes Leroy Berkman 208 votes E. L. Evans 196 votes Jesse Lozano 196 votes W. 0. Fletcher 183 votes I. J. Mc Cook Jr. 196 votes Jaques W. Lackey 198 votes William S. Lott 199 votes G. A. Bredthauer 194 votes John Rosenblad 200 votes Wm. R. Stump 211 votes There were 45 write-ins receiving from 1 to 5 votes. There was a total of 242 votes cast. Respectfully submitted, William R. Eanes Harry L. Gold Library )lotion by Brock and seconded by Gold that plans and specifications for Bids Georgetown Area Library be accepted and bids let on Sept. 3, 1969. Bids to be opened at 4:00 P. M. in City Hall. Motion carried by a unaminous vote. Library Mayor Sloan appointed Everett Williams to replace Otto Longlois ad a Board member of the Georgetown Area Library Board. Appointment 119 Barracks Col. Max Stone of the Civil Air Patrol stated that he could get old For Army barracks without cost except possibly some help in moving the buildings Airport to the Georgetown Airport and suggested that -the City furnish water and septic tanks for the barracks. The council had no objections to Mr..Stond's proposal and stated that they would like to have a cost figure on the proposed project. Swimming Manager Wood presented plans and specifications for a swimming pool to Pool the council. Mayor Sloan and the council suggested that the City Manager take the plans and specifications to the State Health Dept. for their con- sideration and also get copies of the plans made at Miller Blueprint Co. in Austin. Sale of Motion by Gold and seconded by Brock that two Obsolet 2500 K V A trans - 2500 K V A Transformers formers be sold for $13,990.00. Motion carried by unaminous vote. Mayor Sloan suggested that Manager Wood get all information possible in respect to the purchase of the above mentioned transformers and the purchased price and report on matter at the next meeting. Police Motion by Eanes and seconded by Brockk that Police Chief Frank Masuer Jr. Chief pay all of his deliquent bill and if not paid hold pay check until account is paid. Votes as follows: Ayes - Eanes and Brock Noes - Cold and Lyda. This craating a tie vote, Mayor Sloan voted on account of the absence of councilman Davis at the time of voting and voted in favor of the motion. Motion carried. The council voted to increase City Manager Wood salery 75.00 per month. Mayor Sloan stated that there would be a called meeting of the council on August 25, 1969.
