monthly session on the above date,
following members were present:

On motion of Ald. A. C. Noodfin, seconded by AI;d. F. K. Fredericson,
the minutes of the lest session were approved.
City Mrineger Black recd is report end tbst of City Treasurer and Chief
of Poliee rind the bills and scoounts amounting to P219.70t also the
Health Unit report by Comer. On motion of A1d.Compton, seconded by Ald.
Fredericson, the reports were ordered filed and all accounts ordered paid.
The Mayor appointed Aldermen Tilcox and Compton to canvass the returns of
City Election held April 69 I9549 and they reported as follows:
"We, your committee appointed to canvas the returns of the last city
election, report as follows: That there were 57 votes cast and that each
candidate received as follows:
For Mayor
J. Thatcher Atkin, 57
.For Aldmrman:
A. C. Woodfin, 57
R. K. Fredericson, 57
" We therefore report each candidPte electeti without opposition."

To each elected official, the oath of office was administered.
The Annexation Ordinsnee having passed its second reading at the last
session of the Council, was presented to the Council for further consider.
ation by Committeeman, Ald. 1% K. Fredericson, who moved that the
usual rules for passing ordinnnees be suspended, that the said ordinance
containing the emergency clause, be hereafter be rea.d'by caption and
pass its third re»ding. Ald. Comton second d the motion« The motion
carried by the following vote: Ayes --Compton, Fredericson, '9ileox, Voodfin.
No Noes. (one Ald. Absent),
Ordinance Read by Caption. On motion of Ald. Frederison that the said
Ordinance be finally passed, and seconded by Ald. Woodfin, the seme
passed by the following vote: Ayes-- Compton, Fredericson, Wilcox,
Woodfin, Noes -None
Mayor Atkin therefore de,clared'the same duly and constitutionally
passed.
After considerable discussion as to whether or not The City 'Utilities
should become a member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, the dues
in the amount of $180.00 for the year, as requested by a committee present
from the C. of C., A motion was made Ry Ald. Toodfin that the 'Vater and
Light Plant accept and was seconded by Ald. 7rederieson. The motion
carried unanimously, bythose present at the Council meeting.
