HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_ANSAB_04.12.2018City of Georgetown Animal Shelter Advisory Board Meeting Minutes April 1211, 2018 The Animal Shelter Advisory Board met Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 6:00 pm at 110 WL Walden Dr., Georgetown, TX 78626. Regular Session — To begin no earlier than 6:00 pm. (This Regular Session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551. The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Regular Session Members Present:, Keith Fruge, Cinthia Medina, Anna Eby, Nika Gill (Board Chair), Sarah Vigil Members Absent: Susanne Paclebar, Laura Klein Plunkett Staff Present: April Haughey, Animal Services Manager, (Board Liaison) Meeting called to order at 6:08 P.M. by Nika Gill. 1. Public wishing to address the Board a. As of the time of posting, no person had signed up to address the Board 2. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from March 2018 — Nika Gill, Board Chair a. All members reviewed and approved the meeting minutes. 3. Presentation of Animal Services Statistical and Analytical Report for March 2018 —April Haughey, Animal Services Manager(Board Liaison) a. It was found that February had the lowest adoption rate of 34% for both dogs and cats. However, the yearly percentage was 63.1 %! b. Board Members had no issue with the report. 4. Presentation of upcoming adoption and community events for April 2018 — April Haughey, Animal Services Manager(Board Liaison) a. Events were presented to the board in detail. 5. Presentation of recent and upcoming shelter improvements — Nika Gill, Board Chair a. Notified the Board about much needed improvements such as donated dog beds, Feral Cat Boxes, New Dogwalk Board, etc. 6. Presentation and discussion of updates to actions taken to improve branding and awareness in the community — April Haughey, Animal Services Manager(Board Liaison) a. Vertical signs were found to be indoor only b. Anna E. suggested the Animal Shelter put signage up in the park to try to increase flow from there. Keith F. made a motion to adjourn.
