Meeting Minutes
March 8, 2018
The Animal Shelter Advisory Board met Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 6:00 pm at 110
WL Walden Dr., Georgetown, TX 78626.
Regular Session — To begin no earlier than 6:00 pm.
(This Regular Session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session
for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.

Members Present: Keith Fruge, Nika Gill (Chairperson), Laura Klein Plunkett, Susanne
Paclebar, Sarah Vigil
Members Absent: Cinthia Medina, Anna Eby
Staff Present: April Haughey (Animal Services Manager/Board Liaison)
Meeting called to order at 6:04 P.M. by Nika Gill.
1. Recognition and Introduction of Board Members—April Haughey, Animal Services
Manager (Board Liaison)
a. April made introductions and everyone went around the table to tell a little
about themselves.
2. Review of bylaws for the Animal Shelter Advisory Board—April Haughey, Animal
Services Manager (Board Liaison)
a. Quorum is 4 members present. Please let April know if you can't make a
meeting.
b. Members are encouraged to submit agenda items.
c. Purpose of board is vague. May want to clarify.
3. Presentation of Animal Services Statistical and Analytical Report for February 2018—
April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison)
a. April reviewed February's stats, which included a 100% save rate for cats (for last
two months). Overall, there was a 98.6% for February.
b. Volunteer hours for February equaled 3 full time employees.
c. April detailed ACO calls for February.
4. Presentation of findings from State Inspection conducted in December 2017—April
Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison)
a. April reported on the State Inspection, which overall was very good.
5. Presentation of upcoming adoption and community events for March 2018—April
Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison)
6. As of the time of posting, no person had signed up to address the Board.
7. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from December 2017 and
January 2018—April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison)
8. Consideration and action to elect Animal Shelter Advisory Board Officers—Nika Gill,
Board Chair
a. Keith Fruge was elected Vice Chair.
b. Laura Klein Plunkett was elected Secretary.
9. Consideration and possible action of impacts to the Georgetown Animal Services
Department as a result of the Williamson County Animal Shelter expansion—April
Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison)
a. The board brainstormed ways to minimize confusion and disruption.
