HomeMy WebLinkAboutStormwater Management CoordinatorPage 1 of 2 City of Georgetown JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Stormwater Management Coordinator FLSA Category: Non-Exempt Effective Date: 1/1/2017 Revision Date: SUMMARY: Under direction of the Public Works Director, the Stormwater Management Coordinator is responsible for administration, enforcement, and compliance with local ordinances, federal and state codes regulating stormwater quality, construction activity and related assignments for the City of Georgetown. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Provides technical, professional, and administrative support to the City’s storm water management program as mandated by City’s Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP), Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). • Investigates complaints about stormwater runoff, develops corrective recommendations for identified problems and notification of appropriate person(s). • Oversees and assists in the implementation of all stormwater mapping/GIS activities. Manages and supervises assigned professional consultants, and evaluates performance. • Researches full range of funding opportunities available to support these activities. • Where available, prepares grant applications and manage grants and other funding sources. • Performs site visits and sends corrective correspondence and/or conduct enforcement actions with non-compliant offenders and maintain reports. • Reviews and recommends updates to technical specifications and typical standards for all current regulations as related to stormwater management activities. • Develops, implements, presents, or coordinates public education and public participation programs relative to storm water quality. • Performs reviews of erosion control plans and performs on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building code standards adopted by the State of Texas and local ordinance relative to storm water. • Provides code and regulation information when requested by the general public, permit applications, agencies or other departments and coordinate review and inspection activities with other agencies or departments as needed. • Coordinates with the development community to ensure compliance with adopted site erosion and sedimentation regulations. • Represents the City of Georgetown on the Williamson County Conservation Foundation Adaptive Management Working Group. • Performs other duties as assigned by the City of Georgetown Public Works Director. • Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training and Experience Guidelines • Associates in a field related to Civil/Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, Geography, Natural Resources, or related scientific (Biology or Chemistry) from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3 years’ experience in public works, planning, geography or related field; • Prefer experience in Stormwater management, project management, drainage and BMP construction, hydraulic modeling and water quality monitoring. Knowledge of: • Knowledgeable of Federal and State drainage regulations, municipal building codes and requirements. Page 2 of 2 Skills • Ability to read and interpret engineered plans and make basic arithmetic calculations • Microsoft Office; • Ability to obtain and maintain an Texas Driver's License • Ability to communicate well with the public and elected officials, work across multiple departments LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Valid Texas Driver’s License Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ), Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Program Management (CMS4S, or equivalent program certification is preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license.
