Members Present: Kelly Thyssen (Chairperson), Susanne Paclebar, Lyle Warden
DVM, Keith Fruge, and Anna Eby (by phone)
Members Absent: Micki Rundell, Cinthia Medina
Staff Present: April Haughey (Animal Services Manage/Board Liaison)
Meeting called to order at 6:06pm by Kelly Thyssen
1. Review minutes from May 11, 2017 Animal Shelter Advisory Board Meeting -

a. Motion to approve with changes made by Kelly Thyssen, seconded by
Dr. Lyle Warden, DVM, passed by unanimous vote
2. Presentation of animal services statistical and analytical report for May, June,
and July 2017- April Haughey
a. April noted there have been several animals brought into the shelter
this summer from people who lie or fabricate stories about where an
animal was 'found' and who it belongs to, We discussed trying to figure
out a way to track this type of information and then how to address
those types of situations to discourage people from taking animals to
the wrong shelter.
3. Shelter Staffing Update- April Haughey
a. A part-time employee recently resigned and April is in the process of
hiring a replacement.
b. April advised the board that a new Kennel Manager had been hired
and provided the board with the new manager's background and when
her start date would be.
4. Review of proposed City Budget for 2017-2018 as it pertains to the Animal
Shelter- Anna Eby (by phone)
a. A line item is in the budget for study of the Animal Shelter and shelter
expansion options.
