Members present: Lee Bain, Chair; Justin Bohls; Art Browner; Patty Eason; Shawn Hood, Vice -Chair;
and Karl Meixsell.
Absent:. Lawrence Romero, Terri Assendorf-Hyde (alternate) and Catherine Morales (alternate).
Staff present: Sofia Nelson, Planning Director and Karen .Frost, Recording Secretary.
Call to Order by Chair Bain at 6:02 p.m. with the reading of the meeting procedures.

A. Welcome and Meeting Procedures

B. Consideration of .the Minutes from the April 27,. 2017 HARC meeting. Karen Frost, Recording
Secretary
Motion. by Eason, second by Bohls to approve the minutes. Approved 6 - 0 -1 (Meixsell
absent).
C. Public Hearing and possible action on a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness (CUA) for
an addition to a historic structure located at 105 East 5th Street, bearing the legal description
of City of Georgetown, Block 25, Lot 1-8,1.32 acres. (CUA -201.7-010) districts.
Nelson presented the case. The applicant is asking to add a porch on the back of a residential
structure. The owner started work without a permit and code enforcement officers issued a
stop work order. The porch has been scaled down not to be more compatible with the
neighborhood. It is to be.attached to the 1940's addition to the house, not the original 1800's
portion of .the house. Staff recommends approval. The. applicant. reported that this porch and
ramp will make the house more handicap accessible for her.
Chair Bain opened the. Public Hearing and with no speakers conning forth, closed it.
Motion by Bohls, second by Eason to approve the COA as presented. Approved 6 — 0 —1
(Meixsell absent).
D. Historic Resource Survey (HRS) Update -- Sofia Nelson, CNU-A, Planning Director
Nelson reported she has taken the update report of the HRS to a. City Council workshop. Staff
is still working through the details and is scheduling a public open house and office hours for
anyone that wants to discuss their property with the historians..A letter will be sent to all
property owners of properties that are. listed as a resource on the survey. The open house is
scheduled for June 22 and staff twill send reminders to the commission..(Notte- This opeii house
has been moved to.july 13.)
