Members Absent: Mick! Rundell, Mary Treuter
Staff Present: April Haughey(Animal Services Manage/Board Liason), Shawn Gunnin (Board Llason)
Guest: Capt. Evelyn McLean, Eric Johnson, Mike Barnard (virtual), Becky Huff
Meeting called to order at 6:11pm by Kelly Thyssen
1.
Oath of Office Forms— Becky Huff, Asst. City Secretary
a. New members completed forms _
2.
Introductions of all board members- April Haughey
a. First meeting of the new board. New and returning members introduced
b. It was announced that Mary Treuter resigned from the board and a replacement
member would be at the April board meeting.
3.
Shelter Planners of America Presentation Preview — Kelly Thyssen, Mike Barnard (Shelter
Planners of America)
a. Presentation given virtually by Mike Barnard though Go -to -meetings. Eric Johnson
requested copies of the presentation be emailed to him and April Haughey for
further review and editing,
b. Presentation was a brief overview of the needs assessment study that was
completed in 2016.

Review minutes from February 9, 2017 Animal Shelter Advisory Board Meeting- Kelly
Thyssen
a. One change to be made: change "FIP" to "FIV" under item #4
b. Motion to approve with change made by Anna Eby, seconded by Susanne Paclebar,
passed by unanimous vote

Review of the City Council's Boards and Commissions Attendance Policy -Kelly Thyssen

Presentation of animal services statistical and analytical report for February 2017 -Shawn
Gunnin

a. Kelly Thyssen noticed an error with cat adoption percentages and yearend adoption
percentages. April Haughey advised she would look into the cause of the error and
fix it.

a. None
9. Consideration and Action to elect the Animal Shelter Advisory Board Officers- Kelly Thyssen
a. Susanne Paclebar nominated as Vice Chair by Anna Eby and seconded by Kelly
Thyssen. Susanne Paclebar approved as Vice Chair by unanimous vote.
b. Cinthia Medina nominated as Secretary by Susanne Paclebar and seconded by Anna
Eby. Cinthia Medina approved as secretary by unanimous vote.
10. Consideration and Action to select dates/times for future Animal Shelter Advisory Board
Meetings- Kelly Thyssen
a. Motion to keep the meeting set as the second Thursday of each month at 6:OOPM
made by Anna Eby, seconded by Susanne Paclebar. Passed by unanimous vote.
