Policy Development/Review Workshop — Call to order at 2:00 PM A Discussion and Possible Direction on the Firework's Ordinance -- John Sullivan, Fire Chief and Roland Waits, Captain Sullivan reviewed the item for the Council and spoke about the history of fireworks and fireworks regulations in Georgetown. He spoke about the recent action taken by Council related to fireworks use and possession. He said the current Ordinance allows possession of fireworks. He spoke about how it is a problem allowing people to possess and store fireworks but not be able to use them. He said the current Ordinance will allow people from other communities to store fireworks in the City, which he thinks increases the city's risk. He spoke about looking at the idea of adding an affirmative defense clause to the Ordinance. - 0"11.11 said the ordinance changes being proposed are consistent with majority of the other communities' ordinances.
