Council Present: Council Absent: Ferd Tonn Shelley Davis Lorenzo "Shorty" Valdez Susan Hoyt Lee Bain Charlie Barton Charles "Noss" Burson Staff Present: Bob Hart, City Manager George Russell, Assistant City Manager Marianne Banks, City Attorney Sandra Lee, City Secretary Allison Copple, Assistant to the Assistant City Manager Susan Morgan, Director of Finance & Administration Larry Hesser, Chief of Police Verna Browning, Director of Community Services Clyde von Rosenberg, Chief Planner, Long -Range Plamiing Regular Session - Called to order at 5:38 p.m. Public Hearinas A Public Dearing on the annexation of approximately 315.68 acres in the William Addison Survey, a portion of a tract locally known as the Devonshire Farms Concept Plan -- Ed Barry and Clyde von Rosenberg von Rosenberg explained that this is the second of the two required public hearings on this proposed annexation. He reminded Council that the developers had agreed to voluntary annexation and the first reading of the ordinance had been on the agenda on August 11. There were no comments. Minutes of Council Meeting/August 18, 1998 Page 1 of 2 Pages B Public Dearing on the annexation of the 17.01 acre Park Central Section One subdivision, the 19.61 acre Park Central Section Two subdivision, and the 95.42 acre Benderson Trust tract, located along Westinghouse Road -- Ed Barry and Clyde von Rosenberg von Rosenberg explained that this is the second of the two public hearings required for the proposed annexation. He told Council that the first reading of the ordinance would be on the September 8, 1998 Council Agenda. Policy Development/Review Workshop C Results of Customer Retention Survey/No official Council action to be taken Finance Director Morgan reviewed the way the survey had been created, using questions from citizen focus groups. She gave Council an overview of the results of the survey, saying that out of just under 400 people surveyed, the overall citizen opinion of city services is 5.9% dissatisfied, 52.8% satisfied, and 41.3% delighted. Human Resources Director Adriana Sigala reviewed with Council the survey that had been done with City employees. The response from employees showed 5.2% dissatisfied, 42.6% satisfied, and 52.2% delighted. It was noted that there is a direct correlation between the satisfaction of the employees and the overall satisfaction of the citizens.
