Motion: Mary
Second: Lyle
Presentation of animal services status including statistical report - J Carey.
2014 suggestions on items of interest - C Albanese
• Shelter expansion: The shelter takes in about 200 extra animals per year, year over year. Need
to plan for the growth.
• Master plan: $5,000 to $20,000 cost. Can get shelter specialist for maybe $2,500. Need to get
references. No budget for a master plan.
• Unlikely any expansion could be done for several years.
• Could we use the old temp buildings used by schools? Buy or rent? Need to explore the
feasibility.
• With a master plan we could start a building fund and hold fund raisers.
• New market behind Target on 29 will let us show dogs the 3rd Saturday of each month starting in
March.
Update on kennel resurfacing/dogs in foster care/challenges that this present- C Albanese
• Work appears to be high quality so far.
Meeting adjourned 6:38 PM.
