David Kellerman (9]2 Shin ock Hills DrJ introduced himself as Chair of the Main Street Advisory Board. Pic explained that this project has rece.ved a grant from Main Street. Larry Olsen (300 E. 9th Street, 3 extra m. utas given by Ed Olsen) worked with neighbors nd City staff to resolve mash i e. Syn atsd�k explained that Guideline 8.11 states that tables and chairs a wed by staff nd h¢ will work with Hi¢ applicant and code enforcement. HARC is rnly looking at the ailing and retaining wall materials nn the c st side of the building. "1 -he sidewalk is requued to have. throe feet n( clearance per ADA standards. Eby r nded the Commissioners that staff used the design guidelines also to mak¢ decis""ions. Paul mentioned that no tenant was decided upon yet. Synatschk explained that tenants will have the ability to u e the sidewalk, but it is still a public sidewalk. H¢ also explained that a mprehensiv¢ sidewalk study is being n pleted to idem:fy sidewalk priorities city-wide. The highest priorities will be between the square and the library and 9��- Street between Austin and Main. Knight said the Front of the building looks great. Winder had questions about the historic curbing. Synatsehk sta ted that it w vld be orporated in the retaining wall. Winder expressed c rr. that the proposal had a lot of brick. The ADA r nip is rete and maybe the retaining wall should blend with the ramp. She felt that matching the building w of a gond idea. Knight z oted eh¢ brick will be a stark contrast wah the wall and that HARC needs to consider the adjacent property. Synatschk said there is . o part of the design guidelines that address speciRc a mg colors. Eby pointed out that the a ng sample is muted c mpared to the rerzdering. The applicant clarified that the damaged siding is actually a replica of the existing asbestos plan. k. There were none. 9. Updates from staff and r nder about the October 14, 2013 Sign Subcommittee and the October 24, 2013 HARC meetings. There will bc- a sign sub -committee meeting on October 14. The applicant on the Austin Ave.. house told Synatschk that he ved a lot of money by salvaging the old sidingand waned to thank the commission for the suggestion. Urban said he likes the upd atcs. Knight said she will not be attending. the Oct. 14 subcommittee meeting: She also does not n derstand catty HARC r wed tree expanded sidewalk on item 3 at all.
