Call to order by Urban at 4:03 p.m.
The Historic and Architectural Review Commission Sign Subcommittee is responsible for
bearing and taking final action o sign applications, by :ss .ng Certificates of Design
Compliance based upon the City Coundl adopted Downt wv Design Guidelines. This is
regular scheduled meeting of khe Sign Subcommittee, for consideration and possible action on
the Following:
1. Rc--view and possible action on the minutes from the April 25, 2013 Sign Subcommittee
meeting.
Motion by Mee to approve as presented. Second by Krrfght. Approved 3 — O-
2 Considerration and possible action to elect the Chair of the HARC Sign Svbcommfttee.
Knight nominated Urban as Chair. Me¢ corrfiruted with asecond- Approved 3 — O.
3 Confirmation of meeting times and location.
Knight moves confirmation of the ti rst sign subcommittee of the month to be on the
2^^ Monday at 4:00 p.m. Second by Urban. Approved 3— O.
4. Public Hearing and possible action on a Certificate of Design Compliance Request for
signage at Lost Addition, Block 41, Lot 64 (PT)., .016. acres, located at 1006 S. Assstin Ave.
(CDC -2013-016)
Staff report w s presented by Synatschk. The applicant seeks approval from HARC for
exterior signage nn the Austin Avenue fa4ade and the 9�^ Street fapade. The request
nclu des o sign m nted on the east fa Sade of the building, and o sign m nted on
the s uth facade of the structure. Staff recommends approval of the flush mounted
signs on both sides of the building.
Commissioners discussed with the applicant, Ty Gibson For Minuteman Press, why the
sign w s to be made in two smaller (6') lengths instead of one 12' length. Gibson
xpla ed that it w s lass expen - e to do it that way and it w uld not be noticed fro
the street. The aluminum sign with v nyl applied would be guaranteed to last 5 — 7 m
years and would b¢ attached to the I6" center ridge supports.
Motion by Mee to approve the CDC for the signage as submitted. Second by Knight-
