Animal Shelter Advisory Board Members: Christine Albanese, Max Mixson, Pamela Jones, Mary Treuter, Lyle Warden, Jerry Hammerlun, Christy Hullum Animal Shelter Advisory Board meetings are held monthly unless otherwise noted. Consideration and possible action to recommend proposed revisions to Title 7 of the Code of Ordinances to the City Council for approval — Bridget Chapman, Acting City Attorney 3. Jessica Brettle, City Secretary Minutes of the Meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Board City of Georgetown, Texas Thursday, April 18, 2013 The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Members Present: Chris Albanese, Christy Hullum, Max Mixson, Pam Jones, Mary Treuter Members Absent: Lyle Warden, Jerry Hammerlun Staff Present: Jackie Carey, Evelyn McLean Minutes Regular Meeting The Animal Shelter Advisory Board met on Thursday, April 18, 2013. 1. Citizen comments: Diane Coker in attendance as a citizen. Diane reviewed her comments to proposed new Title 7 Animal Ordinance. A handout of her comments was provided to all attendees. 2. Consideration and possible action to recommend proposed revisions to Title 7 of the Code of Ordinances to the City Council for approval - Bridget Chapman, Acting City Attorney Bridget handed out the final draft of the Title 7 Ordinance. She recommended council members attend a meeting on Tuesday, 4/23/13, at 3:00 pm in which the ordinance, the process and the changes will be reviewed. Motion to recommend the ordinance: Max Mixson. Second: Mary Treuter Approved by all. 3. Approval of minutes from March advisory board meeting Motion to approve by Max Mixson. Second by Christy Hullum Approved by all. 4. Presentation of Animal Services status including statistical and analytical report for March - J Carey 5. Open discussion of Animal Shelter and Animal Services operations and marketing. Jackie Carey reported on the conference she attended in Las Vegas in which she explored upgrading of the Chameleon software used by the shelter. • The normal cost for upgrading is 3 days onsite at $900 per day. • The software vendor agreed to charge $900 total for the effort with no travel costs. • Enhancements of the upgraded software will include: o A more robust database o Will eliminate the need for Constant Contact which will provide a$600 annual cost savings o Improved printing of animal history o Improved communication capabilities ■ Automated thank you's ■ Automated tips for new pet adopters • Jackie to schedule the upgrade, aiming for July Chris Albanese suggested skipping meetings in the summer when there are no pressing agenda items. Only 4 meetings per year are required. The board will decide case by case. Meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM
