Members Present: Keith Fruge, Secretary, Mike Simpson, Mary Treuter, Patty Eason, Jensen Young and Jackie Carey Members Absent: Christy Hullum, Chair Staff Present: Shawn Gunnin Minutes Regular Meeting The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday February 18, 2010 in the Parks and Recreation Meeting Room at 1101 N. College Street. Meeting called to order at 6:08 p.m. by Mike Simpson. 1. Citizens comments – The board discussed the letter submitted from a citizen concerned about the level of the training the vet techs working at the shelter received. Jensen Young, who is a licensed veterinarian, will visit the shelter and witness the vet tech’s skill level and treatment procedures. Jackie would then draft a response to the citizen with Jensen’s assessment and after board review, the letter would be sent to the concerned citizen. Patty motioned, Mary second and the motion passed unanimously. 2. Approval of minutes from the January advisory board meeting – The January minutes were approved unanimously. 3. Animal Services statistical and analytical report for the months January, 2010 – Jackie Carey discussed the reports for January, 2010. Of note, no adoptable pet was euthanized in January. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding Animal shelter budget presentation – Mike motioned an action to present to the city manager a plan to make up the shortfall in shelter operating funds for the current fiscal year. Mary second and the motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned by mike Simpson at 7:32 p.m.
