The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday , September 16,
2010.

Regular Meeting
Meeting called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Christy Hullum.
1. Citizens comments – None
2. Approval of minutes from the August advisory board meeting – The August minutes were
approved unanimously.
3. Animal Services statistical and analytical report for the months August, 2010 – Jackie Carey
discussed the reports for August, 2010. Of note, August was a record month for adoptions and no
adoptable animals were euthanized.
4. Discussion about Animal Shelter staffing – Jackie Carey discussed the hiring of additional kennel
staff and the restructuring of portions the workforce for the purpose of efficiency.
5. Discussion about cats at Animal Shelter – Jackie Carey discussed the challenges and causes of
increase cat intakes and recent medical issues and their resolution.
5. Discussion about physical improvements made at Animal Shelter – Jackie Carey discussed the
improvements made to the lighting, floors and wall painting at the shelter. Discussion on the need to
change to a lighter color paint for the floor also occurred.
