The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday, May 21, 2009.
Members Present:
Patty Eason, Chair, Christy Hullum, Vice Chair, Keith Fruge, Secretary, Erica Haley, DVM, Holly
Garland, Jackie Carey.

Regular Meeting
Meeting called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Patty Eason.
1. Citizens comments —none.
2. Approval of minutes from the March advisory board meeting — Jackie Carey motion to approve
and Christy Hullum second. Minutes were approved unanimously.
3. Animal Services statistical and analytical report for the month of March, 2009 — Jackie Carey
discussed the report for April 2009.
4. Discussion and possible action on Officer Positions — Patty Eason had a discussion with the
Mayor and he agreed that the chair person for this board should be a `member at large' and not a city
council member. Christy Hullum was nominated by the board to be the new chair person and the city
council will vote soon on this nomination.
5. Discussion and possible action on the State of the Animal Shelter — Ken Finn was absent so this
item was deferred until the June meeting.
6. Discussion and possible action on disaster preparedness as it relates to animal services and
animals. — The shelter is setting up training for volunteers in June to meet guidelines put out by the Red
Cross requiring animal volunteers to be trained before assisting during a disaster situation.
7. Discussion and possible action on possible updates to City Code relating to animals — Ken Finn
was absent so this item was deferred until the June meeting.
