The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday, April 16, 2009.
Members Present:
Patty Eason, Chair, Christy Hullum, Vice Chair, Keith Fruge, Secretary, Holly Garland, Jackie Carey,
and Mike Simpson.

Minutes
Regular Meeting
Meeting called to order at 6:03 p.m. by Patty Eason.
1. Citizens comments — none.
2. Approval of minutes from the March advisory board meeting — Jackie Carey motion to approve
and Keith Fruge second. Minutes were approved unanimously.
3. Animal Services statistical and analytical report for the month of March, 2009 — Ken Finn
discussed the report for February.
4. Discussion and possible action on the telephone answering system /procedures at the Animal
Shelter — Ken Finn discussed that the phones at the shelter would be answered by staff personnel during
regular business hours and would roll to the automated system during non business hours.
5. Discussion and possible action on dog chaining ordinance — Ken Finn stated that compliance with
the ordinance is high and have had no significant adverse impacts on shelter or animal control officer
operations.
6. Discussion and possible action on Officer positions. — During the March meeting, the board
discussed and voted unanimously to bring to the Mayor's attention that the board supports the goal to
have an "at large" member in the position of chair. Patty Eason will attempt this communication before the
May meeting.
