Members Present: Shawn Gunnin, Chair, Keith Fruge, Secretary, Ken Finn, Debbie Frase, Erica Haley Members Absent: Dawn Hitt-Wilken, Patty Eason Staff Present: None Minutes Regular Meeting Special Meeting A special meeting to discuss possible city animal ordinance changes was called to order at 6:04 p.m. by Chair, Shawn Gunnin. 1. Citizen comments – none. 2. Dawn Hitt-Wilken – Shawn Gunnin announced that Dawn Hitt-Wilken resigned from the board because of family demands on her time. 3. Discussion of proposed changes to city animal ordinances – Shawn Gunnin lead the discussion on proposals originating from the Georgetown Animal Outreach group to help reduce Georgetown’s cat and dog overpopulation. The goal of the discussion was to develop a consensus by the board members on the recommendations and to develop them to a level suitable for presentation to the city council in a workshop format. The topics discussed are listed below: a.Breeding of private pets b.Selective microchipping of cats and dogs c.Mandatory sterilization under certain circumstances d.Sale of pets on roadsides e.Pet license rate changes After a period of discussion, it was decided to continue this discussion at the next regular board meeting. 4. Invitation of interested parties to next advisory board meeting – Shawn Gunnin proposed that the advisory board send out invitations to parties who would have an interest or concern in the proposed changes to city animal ordinances to attend the next advisory board meeting on 15 June. The other board members concurred. 5. A news reporter from the Williamson County Sun newspaper attended the meeting. Gunnin moved to adjourn, Haley seconded. Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
