2.Frase moves accept minutes from previous meeting as is. Second Finn.
Passes unanimously. Eason abstains.
3.Finn presents statistical report from May, 2006. Expected trends in
statistics.
4.Discussion of Ordinance revisions recommended by Georgetown Animal
Outreach. Generally speaking the revisions are intended to address pet
overpopulation in the community and reduce euthanasia in the City’s animal
Shelter. Lauren Nie, local Petland franchise owner speaks. She voices concern
about the price of the commercial pet sales permit and the requirement of
reporting pet sales to the City. Compromise of requiring any organization
selling or adopting out pets in the City to ensure new owners license new pets
through Animal Services instead of giving purchaser/adopter information to
the City is discussed and agreed on. Finn moves Board present Ordinance
revisions to the City Council with the Board’s recommendation that they be
enacted by the Council with the one change related to reporting of pet sales.
Haley seconds. Motion passes unanimously. Finn volunteers to get ordinance
revision recommendations scheduled for a workshop with the City Council.
Meeting adjourned by Chair at 7:12 PM.
