The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday , April 21, 2005.
Members Present:
Shawn Gunnin, Chair, Patty Eason, Lana Cagle, Leann Phenix
Members Absent:
Dawn Hitt-Wilken, Ken Finn, Susan Hopper
Staff Present:
Jackie Carey
Minutes
Regular Meeting
Shawn Gunnin called the meeting to order at 6:00pm at the Georgetown Parks and
Rec Conference Room, 1101 North College St, Georgetown, TX.
1)Citizen’s comments: None. No action taken.
2)Approve minutes of last meeting. Leann Phenix made a motion to accept
the minutes as written. Lana Cagle seconded. Approved
unanimously.
3)Shawn Gunnin made a motion to change the order of the agenda items.
Leann Phenix seconded. All approved.
4)Discussion about upcoming workshop with council. Leann Phenix will get
in contact with Ken Finn about getting information for the workshop
about staffing needs, etc.
Leann Phenix made a motion for each person to bring a developed topic
idea to the next advisory board meeting about things that should be
discussed at the council workshop. Seconded by Patty Eason. All approved.
Lana Cagle made a motion to recommend that the shelter keep track of
visitors that come to the shelter. Patty Eason seconded. All approved.
Jackie Carey will keep track of her duties for one week.
Patty Eason suggested we have staff present at the workshop.
5)Discussion on Feeding policies – Lana thinks the shelter needs to feed pups
4 times a day at the shelter versus free-feeding. It was suggested we ask
volunteer vets their opinions on this matter.

7)Leann Phenix made a motion ot postpone these items until the June Board
meeting.

9) Volunteer Vet program – this item is tabled.
Patty Eason made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Leann seconded. All
approved. Meeting adjourned 7:10pm.
