Members Present: Debbie Frase, Chair, Keith Fruge, Secretary, Christy Hullum, Erica Haley, Ken Finn and Patty Eason Members Absent: None Staff Present: None Minutes Regular Meeting Meeting called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Debbie Frase. 1. Citizens comments – none. 2. December 2007 minutes – Minutes were accepted unanimously. 3. Shelter Report for December – Ken Finn presented the shelter reports. Overall trends continue to be positive. 2008 Animal Shelter calendars continue to sell well and sales have increased from the previous year. Bids for the shelter expansion continue to come in and two new shelter clerks are now at work. 4. Discussion and possible action on Bark Park – The Animal Shelter contributed money to the Park Department to assist in having a message sign emplaced at the Bark Park. The purpose of the sign is to convey information to users of the Bark Park. The Animal Shelter plans to use its space on the sign to advertise adoptable pets and other animal news. 5. Discussion and possible action on Dog Tethering Ordinance – This item was postponed until the next meeting. Ken Finn and Christy Hullum will attempt to meet with Paul Brandenburg, City Manager, and discuss potential changes and strategy. 6. Discussion and possible action on Dogs in Truck Beds – Ken Finn presented the current ordinance which does not directly address dogs in truck beds. Christy Hullum will perform research of similar ordinances in other cities and report back at the next meeting. Meeting adjourned by chair at 6:28 p.m.
