Historic and Architectural Review Commission Sign Subcommittee Meeting
Minutes
Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 5:30 p.m.
City Council Chambers,
101 E. 7th Street, Georgetown, TX 78626
Members Present: Tommy Gonzalez, Chair; J.C. Johnson, and Nancy Knight
Members Absent: none
Staff Present: Robbie Wyler, Historic District Planner; and Karen Frost, Recording Secretary
The meeting was called to order by Chair, Tommy Gonzalez at 5:31 p.m.
The Historic and Architectural Review Commission Sign Subcommittee is responsible for
hearing and taking final action on sign applications, by issuing Certificates of Design
Compliance based upon the City Council adopted Downtown Design Guidelines. This is a
regular scheduled meeting of the Sign Subcommittee, for consideration and possible action on
the following:
1. Review and possible approval of the minutes from the November 13, 2008 Sign
Subcommittee meeting.
Motion by Johnson to approve the minutes as presented. Second by Knight. Approved 2 –
0.
2. Consideration and possible action on a request for a Certificate of Design Compliance for
signage at City of Georgetown, Block 50, Lot 1(CTR/PT), located at 820 S. Austin Avenue.

Wyler presented the application. The applicant is seeking approval of a new hanging sign to
be attached to the Austin Avenue facade. Ms. Fowler, the applicant, was available for
questions.
Motion by Knight to approve the sign as presented in the application. Second by Johnson.
Approved 2 – 0.
Chair Gonzalez adjourned the meeting at 5:37 p.m.
