This is a regular scheduled meeting of the Sign Subcommittee, for consideration and possible action on the following: 1. Review and possible approval of the minutes from the May 8, 2008 Sign Subcommittee meeting. Motion by Knight to approve the minutes. Second by Johnson. Approved 2 – 0. 2. (CDC-2008-024) Chair Gonzalez opened this item for discussion. There was a discussion regarding there being too many colors on the proposed awning sign. The rule is three colors with white and black. Knight did not like the style of the lettering or the children images on the sign. She suggested making the letters more “blocky” and to remove the children graphics. There was also a discussion of whether the existing awning would remain and whether the color of the proposed awning would match those of adjacent businesses. The Subcommittee stated they wanted more information. Motion by Knight to postpone action on this application until the full Commission meeting of June 26 and for staff to share the comments and concerns with the applicant. Second by Johnson. Approved 2 – 0. Meeting adjourned by Chair Gonzalez at 4:17 p.m. __________________________________ _________________________________ Approved, Chair, Tommy Gonzalez Attest, Secretary, Nancy Knight
