Historic and Architectural Review Commission Sign Subcommittee Meeting
Minutes
Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.
City Council Chambers, located at 101 E. 7th St.
Georgetown, TX 78626
Members Present: Tommy Gonzalez, Chair; J.C. Johnson, and Nancy Knight
Members Absent: none
Staff Present: Robbie Wyler, Historic District Planner; and Karen Frost, Recording Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by Chair Gonzalez.
The Historic and Architectural Review Commission Sign Subcommittee is responsible for
hearing and taking final action on sign applications, by issuing Certificates of Design
Compliance based upon the City Council adopted Downtown Design Guidelines. This is a
regular scheduled meeting of the Sign Subcommittee, for consideration and possible action on
the following:
1. Review and possible approval of the minutes from the January 24, 2008 Sign Subcommittee
meeting.
Motion by Knight to approve the minutes. Second by Johnson. Approved 3-0.
2. Consideration and possible action on a request for a Certificate of Design Compliance for
signage at City of Georgetown, Block 41, Lot 5(pt) located at 714 S. Austin Avenue Suite #102.

Robbie Wyler presented the application for signage on the door and window of the business,
which he stated conformed to the Design Guidelines and he recommended approval.
Motion by Johnson to approve the application as presented. Second by Knight.
Approved 3 – 0.
3. Consideration and possible action on a request for a Certificate of Design Compliance for
signage at Lost Addition, Block 13, Lot 1, Located at 103 W. 11th Street. (CDC-2008-005)
Wyler presented the application for signage at a business, that conforms to the Design
Guidelines and to which he recommends approval. Johnson asked if this is the only signage
that will be for this business. Wyler reported this is the only signage that was requested in
the application.
Motion by Knight to approve the application as presented. Second by Johnson.
Approved 3 – 0.
The Subcommittee may forward these items to the next meeting of the Historic and
Architectural Review Committee for its consideration. That meeting is scheduled for February
28, 2008.
No items were forwarded to the regular Commission meeting. Motion to adjourn the
meeting by Johnson. Second by Knight. Meeting was adjourned at 5:09 p.m.
