Subcommittee Meeting
Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 3:30 P.M.

Commissioners Present: Joe Burke, Chair, Virgil Buell (Alternate), Beebe Gray.
Staff Present: Paula Dessler
A special subcommittee meeting of the Historic and Architectural Review Commission, for consideratio n
and possible action on the following:
1. Request for Certificate of Design Compliance for signage at Circle S, 122 E. 8th.
First application from the October HARC meeting was denied due to the size of the window sign.
Motion by Commissioner Gray to approve the sign as presented. Second by Commissioner Buell.
Motion Approved 3-0.
2. Request for Certificate of Design Compliance for signage at “R” Kidz Moonwalk Rental, at 806
Rock St.
Motion by Commissioner Buell to approve the request to allow either of the following.
- Submitted sign with adjustments to fit the square footage requirements of 9.5.
-The submitted alternate sign that meets the requirements of Guideline 9.5.
Second by Commissioner Gray. Motion Approved 3-0
3. Request for Certificate of Design Compliance for signage and parking lot lights at Ed Wohlrab
Designer Homes, 203 S. Austin Ave.
Motion by Commissioner Buell to approve as submitted with the following exceptions.
- Width of the sign can be extended up to 1 foot on each side with input from staff.
- Sign lighting approved as 1 ground mounted light on each side of the sign directed up onto the
sign in accordance with the restrictions of Guideline 9.19.
- Site lighting approved with the following exceptions; Galvanized pal will not be used an
alternate shade will be presented to City Staff for approval.
- Galvanized metal is approved, it is consistent with the façade materials.
- Building illumination fixtures approved locations indicated on the site plan and is consistent with
guideline 8.18.
Second by Commissioner Gray. Motion Approved 3-0
