Also on the ballot are four propositions related to a proposed 0.25 percent sales and use tax. (A 0.25 percent sales and use tax would equal 1/4-cent collected on each dollar.) Seventh Street Georgetown ISD Administration Bldg, 603 Lakeway Drive Information about voting times and locations can be found at www.georgetown.org under “Election information.” More information about Propositions 1 through 4 can be found on the web site under “City News.” Proposition 1 would direct half of the revenue from a 0.25 percent sales and use tax toward the reduction of property taxes in Georgetown. The other half (or 1/8-cent) would be for attracting new or expanded industrial or commercial businesses. If Proposition 1 passes, then, in addition to the uses allowed by Section 4A of the Development Corporation Act of 1979, three other propositions on the ballot could authorize addi- tional uses of the 1/8-cent tax. Proposition 2 authorizes the use of any sales and use tax authorized by Proposition 1 to additionally be used to fund public park purposes and events, parks and park facilities, and open space improve- ments, including related improve- ments and maintenance and operating costs, if any. Proposition 3 authorizes the use of any sales and use tax authorized by Proposition 1 to additionally be used to develop and expand affordable housing, including related improvements and mainte- nance and operating costs, if any. Proposition 4 authorizes the use of any sales and use tax authorized by Proposition 1 to additionally be used for project costs for streets, roads, drainage, and other related transportation system improve- ments, including maintenance and operating costs for such projects. With higher conservation rates for usage above 19,000 gal- lons per month for residential cus- tomers, it’s an especially good time to look for ways to reduce your water use and save on your water bill. Space is limited, so register now! Camp Goodwater Ages 5 -12 (child must have completed Kindergarten) Camp Goodwater daycamp is housed at the Community Center in San Gabriel Park. Activities include games, arts and crafts, swimming, Challenge Course elements, archery, caving, canoe- ing, hiking, rock climbing, sports, nature activities, skits, and a field trip each week. Camp time is 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Early drop-off and late pick-up available for additional fees. Offered in weekly sessions May 31 – Aug. 12. Weekly fee is $120 for residents, $130 for non- residents. Tennis Camp Ages 8 - 16 The Georgetown Tennis Center offers a summer tennis camp for youth players of all levels. Camp activities include basic stroke instruction, innovative drills, strategy sessions, motivational talks, analyzed match play, physi- cal/tactical/technical skill training, camp tournament, team competi- tions, games, snacks, and swim- ming. Camp is Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Offered in weekly sessions June 6 – Aug. 12. Weekly fee is $120 for residents, $130 for nonresidents. Munchkins Tennis Camp Ages 5 - 7 The Munchkin Camp is designed to teach children ages 5 - 7 the game of tennis in a friendly atmos- phere. If needed, we will provide your child with a tennis racket to use during the week of camp free of charge! Camp activities include enjoyable tennis drills, a mid- morning snack, and lots of fun. Swimming will not be a part of camp due to swimming lessons that will be taking place during the same time. Camp is Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Offered in weekly sessions June 6 – Aug. 12.
