The ISO rating audit included every facet of the City’s fire pro- tection system. Key factors in the rating upgrade included increased staffing levels, new fire trucks and firefighting equipment, increased training, new fire stations, and water pressure levels for fire hydrants. The new Class 2 rating will apply to homes and businesses in the Georgetown City Limits. Properties in Georgetown’s emer- gency service area, also known as Emergency Service District 8, also are eligible for the Class 2 rating if they are within five miles of a Georgetown fire station and within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant with suffi- cient fire flow.
