Lindholmsaysthatformuchofher life,shethoughtshehadnoartistic talent.Thenatsomepointshetook apaintingclass,andaftertwo hours,“IknewI’dpaintthe restofmylife.IknewI wasjustmeanttodoit.” Thatwas35yearsago,and Lindholmisstillpassionate aboutherart,whichshedoes everyday.“Everyoneisan artist,”saysLindholm. “Somecook,some decorate,but we’reallartistsin someway.” Inadditionto painting, Lindholm createsart- workwith photo- graphs usingcollage andembossing techniques.Shealsoteachesprivate- lyandconductsworkshopsforsmall groups.Moreofherartworkcanbe seenonherwebsiteatwww.lindhol- mart.com. Postersforthe 14thannualRed PoppyFestivalfea- turingLindholm’s paintinggoonsale for$5eachatthe VisitorCenterat RedPoppyFestivalPosters WorkbeganinFebruaryonaside- walkexpansionandstreetscapeproj- ectonthewestsideofAustin AvenuefromSeventhtoEighth streets.Parallelparkingspaceswill bereplacedwithawidersidewalk foroutdoorcaféseating.Theproject alsoincludesfiveraisedplanterswith ornamentaltreesandlightingaswell asthepreservationandre-useofhis- toriclimestonecurbing. Constructionwillallowforaccessto businessesandisscheduledtobe completedbyRedPoppyFestivalin April.The$231,000projectisfund- edmostlywithrevenuefromthe downtowntaxincrementreinvest- mentzone,whichisdedicatedto downtownpublicimprovement projects.
