Constructedin1972,thetruckbaybuildingwassold toThunderCloudSubslastyearinabidprocess. Theadjacenttwo-storyfirestationbuilding,a recordedTexasHistoricLandmarkbuiltin1892 thatservedasthefirstCityHallandfirestation,is stillownedbytheCity.Cityofficesareonthe secondfloorofthehistoricfirestationandthe GeorgetownArtCenter,openinglaterthissummer, willbeonthefirstfloor. BehavioralHealth Hospitals ConstructionstartedinJuneontheGeorgetownBehavioralHealthInstituteat3101S.AustinAvenue.The73,500 squarefoot,118-bedfacilityownedbySignatureHealthcareServiceswillofferavarietyofbehavioralhealthand chemicaldependencyservicesforseniors,adults,adolescentsandactivedutymilitaryaswellasveterans.The hospitalisscheduledtoopeninspring2014andprovideapproximately300jobs. ThunderCloudSubsOpens RockSprings,abehavioralhealth hospitalat700SEInnerLoopRoad, beganconstructionearlierthisyear. The72-bed,51,000squarefoothos- pitalisexpectedtoopeninFebruary 2014.Thefacilityisoneofseven SpringstonehospitalsintheU.S. treatingadultswithmentalhealth andaddictiondisordersaswellas mentalhealthissuesarisingfrom geriatricconditions.RockSpringsis expectedtohave150employees.
