The Airport Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Monday , September 21, 2009.

Minutes
Regular Meeting
1. Call to order.
Vice-Chairman Hopper called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Chairman Hopper introduced new board
member, George Brown.
2. Consideration and possible action to approve the Minutes of June 15, 2009, meeting.
Van Chandler : I make the motion to approve the minutes of June 15, 2009.
George Brown : I second the motion.
Motion approved 6-0.
3. Airport Manager’s Report:

Sales Taxes – First Quarter 2008 to 2009 down 57.6%. Second Quarter 2008 to 2009 down 60.3%.
Operations – 20% less in 2009 compared to 2008.
Report on Noise Study and Master Plan Update
Travis McLain: No report.
Report on Council Actions
Travis McLain : On July 14, 2009 Council approved Cannon Aviation Group ’s request for a 10 year
extension to 304 Terminal Drive.
Report on Airport Construction Projects
Travis McLain : The project to remove trees and relocate 8 -foot game fence on the East side of the
approach has been completed.
Control Tower Radar Display
Travis McLain : No report. The FAA conducted a site survey in June.
Improvements to Terminal Drive
Travis McLain : The City of Georgetown will receive a State Grant to construct ribbon curbs and rehab all
airport streets. Work will begin in 60-90 days. The grant is 50-50 due to change in FAA policy. Budget
Amendment for $37,500 (original budget $22,500)
Airport FY2010 Proposed Budget
Travis McLain : The proposed FY2010 Airport budget is basically unchanged from 2009. Only exception
is $33,000.00 for the Airport’s 5% match for the first phase of the project to remove obstructions to RW 36
and rehab various taxiways.
4. Discuss ways to promote aviation and the Georgetown Municipal Airport.
Daryl Dressler : Presented a list of possibilities. We will first present a list to City Council for approval.
John Hopper : Do we need to prioritize them?
Van Chandler : Council will need to give their input and approval.
Katherine Woods : We need to present the concept to City Council and get staff assistance.
John Hopper : We need to present the framework to Council at a workshop. We also need to get
Economic Development support.
Van Chandler : Motion to finalize the event(s) document for action in October.
Katherine Woods : I second the motion.
Motion approved 6-0.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
5. Discuss Airport Business Plan.
Van Chandler : Presented “Proposed Changes”. Board will discuss in the months to come.
6. Consideration and possible action for setting Agenda Items for the October 19, 2009, meeting.
Agenda item(s) for the October 19, 2009 meeting:
A. Discuss ways to promote Aviation and the Airport.
B. Discuss Business Plan for the Airport.
7. Adjourn.
George Brown : I make the motion that we adjourn.
Van Chandler : I second the motion.
Motion approved 6-0.
