The Airport Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Monday , June 16, 2008.
Members Present:

Minutes
Regular Meeting
1. Call to order.
Chairman Paul Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
2. Consideration and Approval of Minutes of May 19, 2008, meeting.
Van Chandler: Motion to approve the minutes of May 19, 2008.
Ken Arnold : I second the motion.
Motion approved 6-0.
3. Airport Manager’s Report:
May 2008 Monthly Income and Expense Reports
Travis McLain : First of all, I’d like to recognize Mrs. Hewlett, a citizen of Georgetown, and a member of the
Georgetown Citizen Academy. They have asked that she attend board meetings to see and experience different
departments of the City of Georgetown.
Paul Smith: Welcome Mrs. Hewlett.
Travis McLain : There were three pay periods in May, 2008. On June 1, 2008 the Avgas price increased from $4.75
to $4.85.
Paul Smith : Travis, can you tell me how many applicants we have requesting hangar space?
Travis McLain : There are 75-80 applicants on the waiting list and I advise them that it is a 3 -4 year waiting list.
Currently through private developers there are 25 new hangars being built and plans for another 25 -30 hangars.
Report on Noise Study and Master Plan Update
Travis McLain : We are slowly making progress with the FAA on the obstruction issues. We will present the
proposed project to the Board in July.
Report on Council Actions
Travis McLain: None.
Report on Airport Construction Projects
Travis McLain : Project on north end of RW 18 east side of approach, to relocate the fence and clear and grub
approximately 5 acres. It should be ready for bids by August.
General Information Items
Travis McLain: None.
4. Citizens Wishing to Address the Board
None.
5. Consideration and possible action to recommend that Council approve revisions to Chapter 12.32 of
the Code of Ordinances pertaining to the Georgetown Municipal Airport Use Regulations due to the
activation of the Georgetown Air Traffic Control Tower.
Travis McLain : Everyone should have received a copy of the Rules & Regulations - Code of Ordinance, Chapter
12.32 including all recommended revisions and updates. Shannon Thomas and I have reviewed and made our
recommendations and Daryl Dressler found corrections as well.
Trey Taparauskas : Motion to approve the recommendation that Council approve revisions to Chapter 12.32 of the
Code of Ordinances pertaining to the Georgetown Municipal Airport Use Regulations due to the activation of the
Georgetown Air Traffic Control Tower.
Daryl Dressler: I second the motion.
Motion approved 6-0.
6. Consideration and possible action for setting Agenda Items for the July 21, 2008, meeting.
Agenda item(s) for the July 21, 2008 meeting:
A. Consideration and possible action for recommending to the Council in August a project to remove obstructions
on the Runway 36 approach.
7. Adjourn.
