Members Present: Daryl Dressler, John Hopper, Katherine Woods, Paul Smith, Tim Sullivan, Van Chandler Members Absent: Trey Taparauskas Staff Present: Travis McLain Minutes Regular Meeting 1. Call to order. Chairman Paul Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. 2. Consideration and Approval of Minutes of May 15, 2006, meeting. John Hopper: Motion to approve the minutes of May 15, 2006. Katherine Woods: I second the motion. Motion approved 6-0. 3. Airport Manager’s Report: May 2006 Monthly Income and Expense Reports Travis McLain: On June 1, 2006 the price of Avgas decreased to $3.60 per gallon and effective June 16, 2006 the price of Avgas increased to $3.70 per gallon. Tim Sullivan: On the Airport Operations, I noticed that the FICA/Retirement in April 2006 was $610.38 and in May 2006 is $1,544.84, why? Travis McLain: I will check into this and follow up. Report on Noise Study and Master Plan Update We received the FAA’s response to the Obstruction Mitigation proposal – FAA Form 7460-1; and we’ll meet with TxDOT later this month to discuss options. Report on Council Actions Travis McLain: City Council approved the 90-day extension to Microfusion Inc. with liquidation damages. Council approved a 2-year contract with Avfuel Corporation for fuel effective July 1, 2006 with three 1-year options. Report on Control Tower Travis McLain: Construction is on schedule. They should be pouring piers next week. Report on the Aviation Museum Paul Smith: I would like to advise the Airport Board that I just received notice from Kathy Kilmore, Museum Director of the Texas Aviation Historical Museum Foundation that their board approved me as a member of their board. So I will be a representative to the boa rd. Their next meeting is scheduled for July 10, 2006. Report on Airport Safety Travis McLain: Nothing to report. Report on Airport Security Audit Travis McLain: We will submit staff recommendations next month. It will be an action item next month (Police to attend). Report on Airport Signs Travis McLain: The contractors are expected to begin installation next month. General Information Items Travis McLain: Avgas price increased to $3.70 per gallon on June 16, 2006. Two T -Hangars were broken into G-6 and G-8 last week. The T-Hangar doors latches will be improved. 4. Citizens Wishing to Address the Board None. 5. Consideration and possible action to recommend revisions to the Mandatory Construction section of the Airport Ground Lease. Travis McLain: The City Attorney, Trish Carls has provided us a draft for the proposed new lease language. She has addressed your concerns and yet still leaves flexibility with the Board and City Council in extenuating circumstances. Travis McLain: As far along as they are and as much money invested, with the use of that hangar (part of Scott & White EMS will be located in that facility), they will definitely be an asset to the airport. I can see granting them the 90-day extension to September 30, 2006, then with liquidated damages after that. Tim Sullivan: Motion that the Airport Advisory Board recommend to City Council that they approve a 90-day extension to Microfusion and the Mandatory Construction Deadline to September 30, 2006, with $500.00 per day liquidated damages to be paid to the City of Georgetown for every day after September 30, 2006, until the project is completed. Van Chandler: I second the motion. Motion approved 6-0. 6. Consideration and possible action for setting Agenda Items for the July 17, 2006, meeting. Paul Smith: Agenda item(s) for the July 17, 2006 meeting: A. Security Audit B. Airport Museum 7. Adjourn. John Hopper: Motion that we adjourn. Katherine Woods: I second the motion.
