Minutes of the Meeting of
the Airport Advisory Board
City of Georgetown, Texas
Monday, April 17, 2006
The Airport Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Monday , April 17, 2006.
Members Present:
Daryl Dressler, John Hopper, Katherine Woods, Paul Smith, Tim Sullivan, Trey Taparauskas
Members Absent:
None. (Note: Arnold Wieder has resigned.)

Minutes
Regular Meeting
1. Call to order.
Chairman Paul Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
2. Consideration and Approval of Minutes of March 20, 2006, meeting.
Tim Sullivan: Motion to approve the minutes of March 20, 2006.
Trey Taparauskas: I second the motion.
Motion approved 6-0.
3. Airport Manager’s Report:
March 2006 Monthly Income and Expense Reports
Tim Sullivan: Has the cost of fuel been a factor in sales being down?
Travis McLain: Yes. Cost of fuel has affected everyone.
Report on Noise Study and Master Plan Update
None. (Waiting for the FAA response to Obstruction Mitigation proposal – FAA Form 7460-1)
Report on Council Actions
Travis McLain: City Council approved the assignment from Tom Walters to Lightning Ranch Holding
Co., LLC.
Report on Control Tower
Travis McLain: The apparent low bidder exceeds the budget of the Tower construction by
$351,213.00. I met with Finance and they have looked over the balance in the Airport Fund; the
Airport Fund can cover this over five years. Finance will present this t o Council on April 25, 2006.
Report on the Aviation Museum
Travis McLain: Howard Fomby is here to report on the Aviation Museum.
Howard Fomby: The Texas Historical Museum Foundation has decided to come to Georgetown. The
museum will include aviation, automobiles, and motorcycles. We will meet this week to discuss more
details (Thursday, 6:30 p.m. at the Terminal Building). Mrs. Emma Browning, the primary benefactor
to the museum, was one of the first female aviators in the world. She was a friend and contemporary
to Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart. She has been associated with aviation all her life and it ’s
been her dream to create this museum. We also have the opportunity to invite the International Swift
Association; they are looking for a new home (2006).
Travis McLain: Everyone is invited to attend the Browning Museum dedication this Thursday, April 20,
2006 at 6:30 p.m. over by Gantt Aviation. There will be a tent set up, chairs, etc.
Trey Taparauskas: I’d like to take the opportunity to comment that I am very pleased to hear that the
decision was made to bring the museum to the Georgetown Municipal Airport. I’d also like to thank
Howard and all the people involved to make this possible.
Report on Airport Safety
Travis McLain: No reports were turned in this past month.
Report on Airport Security Audit
Travis McLain: Tom Yantis and I met with the Chief of Police and two other officers on April 3, 2006;
we are now waiting on a revised report from the Police Department.
Report on Airport Signs
Travis McLain: Council will take action on the low bid scheduled for April 25, 2006.

Travis McLain: That’s all I have for tonight.

5. Consideration and possible action for setting Agenda Items for the May 15, 2006, meeting.

John Hopper: Motion that we adjourn.
Katherine Woods: I second the motion.
Motion approved 6-0.
