Councilmembers present: Staff present: Winfred Bonner Mike McMaster Barbara Pearce Joe Saegert Bob Schrawger Ferd Tonn Councilmembers absent: Shorty Valdez Bob Hart, City Manager Marianne Landers Banks, City Attorney Leslie Gregoire, Deputy City Secretary SPECIAL MEETING - Call to Order 12:36 p.m. Executive Session The Mayor convened in executive session at 12:39 p.m. The following items were considered in Executive Session and are subject to action only in the Open Session that follows: 900451 Pursuant to Article 6252 -17, Sec. 2(f) Real Estate Discuss possible purchase of the Doerfler building on the Northwest corner of Main and 6th St. by the City/Bob Hart 900452 Pursuant to Article 6252 -17, Sec. 2(g) Personnel Discuss Tourism Director/Bob Hart 900453 Pursuant to Article 6252 -17, Sec. 2(r) Staff Report Discuss GIF Contract Negotiations/Bob Hart City Council Minutes -- Special Session -- 9/21/90 Mayor reconvened the open session at 1:05 p.m. Regular Session Consideration of and possible action on the following: 940451 Pursuant to possible real estate purchase Motion made by Councilperson McMaster and second by Councilperson Pearce requesting that a City staff member attend the auction being held by Hartland National Bank and place a bid on the Doerfler property, located in the 600 block of Main Street, which is to the specified amount discussed in Executive Session. Approved 6 -0. Additional conversation followed regarding the importance of proceeding further with the agreements referenced in Agenda Items 900452 and 900453. Councilmembers expressed their agreement that the City should move forward in reaching an agreement with both the Chamber of Commerce and the Georgetown Industrial Foundation. City Manager Hart stated that the Diamond Shamrock station on Austin Avenue will not be completed because the Texas Water Commission had not given clearance with their Pollution Abatement Plan. He also told the Council that the AWC Board had met and the LCRA Settlement will apparently be delayed approximately one week. The Mayor adjourned the meeting at 1:18 p.m. APPROVED: ATTEST: €t.
